I am a working mom and artist and sometimes I need a break. I am feeling the need of an artist retreat coming quickly so I have started to research some that are in the area. Most likely make up my own, just to take advantage of some time away from my normal routine. And the great thing is that it does not have to be very long....a little dab will do ya!
If you are an artist but haven't been on one before (or created your own) I would like to encourage you to do so. Here are some of the reasons why people decided to go on retreats. Do you fit the bill? Relax Take time to reflect and gain clarity Rejuvenate your spirit Learn or practice new ways of self-improvement Heal Create A few years ago I was able to go on an artist retreat in Panama and it was life changing. (Check out: http://ourcreativecurrents.org/) I had the opportunity to live in another culture (which I had not done in a long time), learn a new language, be around some phenomenal creatives and most of all create! But first I slept. I was tired and in need of a break and I remember eating and resting a lot the first week. And after that I worked. Both were necessary.
